Lucky Number 27

Troy's bday was on a tuesday this year. He was no help whatsoever in telling me what he wanted to do that day so I took it into my own hands and made brownie and ice cream sandwiches at my parents house. Troy ended up really liking them.

It was a small gathering since tuesdays are a little crazy. This is how everybody looked at me when I told them to come eat dessert.

Troy thought he would be funny and blow out the candles before everyone stopped singing so I didn't get the traditional birthday-boy-with-the-candles photo.

Too much sugar and a new friend. This cat is sooo wierd

FRIDAY NIGHT
we went swimming at the infamous Green Canyon hot spring. Rockwell was so funny because we thought he would love it but when we stopped at Charles and Nancy's house to wait for them all he wanted to do was stay and play with Charlie (side note: after we picked him up all he talked about was how Charlie is is "new friend" and has "fun toys") BUT Otto loooooved it and Otto also looooves the camera.

It was awesome to have so many people show up. We were so happy to see everyone who was made it. Below is a terrible (lighting) picture of some of us in the hot pool.

Awww, the birthday boy himself in his element.

See? Point a camera at this kid and he lights up

Fred, Nita, and Julie (I put this on there so you can steal it, Nita)

Chicken fights. I like Troy's karate chop. Jordan, Josh, and Fred are also in the picture. Oh, and the back of Charles's head

It was late and we should have gone to bed but Anna talked us into going to Nielson's custard. Just look at that guilty face

WAY past his bedtime but he liked the custard. Anna took this picture and then said "k that one was.... well, you both looked at the camera"

Way past his bedtime, too. This was the face I got when I told him to smile

any comments, Troy?
"Advice: blowing out the candle's before the birthday song is over won't make the singing go away"

Words to live by. Here's to an older and wiser Troy.

Random Pictures from the Last Month

Woah! I can't believe how fast the month goes! I hate bloggers like me. We haven't been up to a whole lot. Just live. Just livin' it and waiting in Limbo Land while Troy works on his portfolio and we figure out where we need to be and what we need to be doing. In the meantime:

Rock helped me dry apples. Oh the help of a two year old- one step forward 5 steps backward

And he made us laugh, many times.

We made Rocky a bed. It's almost perfect. It cost about $25 to make it out of solid wood (pine) and we needed to get him off the floor since we are in the basement and it's hobo (spider) season

We went to Rigby lake with Fred & Nita and Charles & Nancy. These babes are all just weeks apart. So cute! Otto, you heartbreaker, you!

Alterier motives for the trip: The men wanted to scuba dive in the lake

Rocky thought Charly was the coolest.

Harvy has become part of the family and the official scapegoat. Who ate my candy bar? Harvy. Who farted? It was Harvy. Who took over my spot on the bed? Harvy again.

Funny cat. We like him. But we like cats. We are the cat people that sitcoms poke fun at. He is the only cat I've had who's willing to come back after I throw him off the my lap while I run to the bathroom. I step on his tail like all the time and he just acts mildly annoyed. Crazy.

More help from Rockwell. We are not ready for potty training but we're trying to help him not be afraid of it. Anyways I guess mostly he just wanted to do what I was doing- cleaning the toilet.

Rocky can identify different engines as they drive past our apartment complex (and there are man) he loves to exclaim "bike" "truck" "car" "train" (we are uncomfortably close to the train tracks) and he loves to ride daddy's bike around the parking lot. But mostly I guess he just loves hat, which really explains the next two pictures.

This is how Troy looks at me when I make him salads for lunch. Just kidding. This is how Troy looks at me when I interrupt his salad eating by taking a picture of him and threatening to put it on the blog for the world to see

Green Canyon Adventure

We wanted to take Rocky swimming. but first Troy had to go rock hunting for his terrarium
Rockwell is such a good helper

This kid loves the water
We invited a a bunch of people to go with us. Charles and Nancy are the only ones who made it and we're SO glad they did.

Oh, Troy.

I love this picture of these two

Rocks, water, fire, and sticks. Every boy's dream night.
