Christmas break was a crazy two weeks for us. I was crunching some numbers one day and realized that our baby is due to arrive 2 or 3 weeks before Troy graduates and then we don't think we'll stick around long after that. I thought about our trailer. I thought of all the trailers in our neighborhood that have been for sale for months, and how, after Rockwell was born, I didn't have energy enough to function for months. With Troy so busy, how was I going to show and sell a house and pack up and move with a brand new baby? So, after talking to Troy, we decided to put our little home on the market and see what happened. This was Thursday, Dec 9. On Monday I got an email about it. On Tuesday a young couple came to see it. Wednesday they made an offer, we made a counter offer; they accepted. We got exactly what we'd hoped. They wanted in by January 1s, two weeks away.By Friday they had been approved for a loan and approved to live in the trailer park. Friday night they said... wait. WHAT?! A job they were counting on fell through, so they had to wait for another job. We wouldn't find out until after Christmas. So we decided to enjoy Christmas and not worry about it.
Monday after Christmas I gave them a call. They still weren't sure. Tuesday afternoon they called and said they were finishing the paperwork. They said they didn't want to rush us out but when i said we could be out by the 7th they got all panicky and said they HAD to be in by the 6th and could they come on the 5th and start painting etc etc. I said no to the painting and said we would try but no promises. REally people? 4 years worth of our lives and they want us out in a mean week and a half?! So we got packing. We hauled our stuff to Heidi's basement, Jordan's crawl space, and Kathy and Leon's house. We were in fact out by Friday the 5th but Ha! jokes on them, I didn't clean the carpets.
So here we are, living with Leon and Kathy, our heads still spinning, trying to sort through our stuff ( so much STUFF! BLAH!) and not be too much of a burden on them for our last semester. Wish us luck!
